January 22, 1992 - Credit to NBA Cobwebs for pinning down the source on this one. Via Seattle Times:
"According to witnesses, John Battle and trainer Gary Briggs were at the door of the Cavaliers' dressing room last night when Indiana's George McCloud came up from behind and punched Battle in the face.
Bleeding from the mouth, Battle staggered backward and grabbed a board. At that point, a security guard stepped between the two players and broke up the fight."
McCloud, for what it's worth, was suspended for a game on account of the punch. Two nights later, Battle's 12 points off the bench lead to a 119-115 Cavaliers win on the second half of a home-and-home.
