Stephanie has no previous martial arts experience and this video was taken after approximately 90 minutes of instruction. The Punch Block Series is a technique from the Gracie Combatives curriculum that is used when a person is on the ground trying to defend themselves against an attacker who is presumed to be bigger, stronger, and more athletic. Instead of trying to out muscle the striking opponent while on the bottom of the fight, the grounded individual relies on leverage, timing, and technique to neutralize punches and survive.
