If you find yourself checking Snopes every time you see a dubious claim online, you might have avoided being fooled by these wrestling hoaxes. Let’s see how good you are at determining whether or not a rumor is true, by showing you ten wrestling rumors that managed to fool the internet. Some of the rumors are things that quite frankly we wished were true, like a match between AJ Styles and Shawn Michaels. Yes, that promotional poster was really just a piece of fan art, and although the match would have undoubtedly been incredible, it’s not going to happen. Sorry to burst your bubble! You might have heard that one wrestling event was so desperate to get ahold of CM Punk that they offered him $1 million in order to be in their special. Sadly for both fans and CM Punk himself, it seems that there isn’t any truth behind this rumor. When will we learn that in addition to not being able to see John Cena, we can’t trust him either? He has a history of pranking us, but some people really wanted to believe he wasn’t pulling our leg when he announced that Kenny Omega would be making an appearance. In the defense of those who fell for this, Kenny Omega himself was in on the joke, making it seem a lot more believable. We’ll also put to rest a frustratingly enduring rumor about The Ultimate Warrior, and tell you how Hulk Hogan really got that black eye.
