On October 26th, I stumbled across a Westbound Intermodal train and a grain train being assembled with some awesome power!
While I was in the CP Winnipeg Yard area, I turned around to look at the power on an inbound train coming off the Keewatin sub, when I saw something pretty rare in this region. CP AC4400CWM 8045 was leading the train, but, behind It was former Central Maine and Quebec GE AC4400CW 1002! And right behind it was the last of the current order of SD70ACu's, CP 7059!* Railfans on CP Rail are going to see, and have been seeing more CMQ power, as around December of 2019, CP acquired the CMQ railway. I see this as an absolute win!
Anyway, I raced over to Lizzie Street, where you can get a good shot of whats going on in the yard to find a grain train blocking the view of the CMQ unit. I looked over and was amazed to see CP heritage unit SD70ACu 7018 leading the string of grain cars! luckily, 7018 stopped for a minute to switch onto another track, giving me a short amount of time to get a decent view of 1002 and 7059. 7018 then raced backwards into a siding and stopped with its string of hoppers as the 100 series intermodal with the cool consist rolled westbound through the yard.
Thanks for watching!
