Time lapse of the installation of a large format tile installed on a concrete floor with a Large format tile thinset and using the T-Lock lippage system to achieve a nice even finish. Although tile can be successfully installed directly on concrete in my opinion it is always better to use an uncoupling mat like Schluter Ditra . Concrete expands and contracts at a much different rate than a porcelain tile an uncoupling membrane will insure a trouble free long lasting installation. In this case a Schlter metal was used to finish and protect the edges of the tile in the doorways and where the tile was to meet carpet. All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area.
