There's no such thing as "keeping our head still" within a golf swing. If you succeed with keeping your head still, you'll probably injury yourself in the process.
But there is a lot of merit to keeping your head behind the ball at impact. Preventing your head from getting in front of the ball provides an opportunity for a lot of other favorable impact conditions to happen for you.

Using 3 ordinary alignment sticks, with one representing the middle of your body or your head position at address, you can make make balanced swings which allow you to see and feel your head remaining behind the alignment stick at impact.
