This video series is to help children progress and develop their fundamental movement skills, in this case the Frog Jump.
The levels designate how difficult the skill is, with level 1 being the easiest and usually an introduction to the skill. The videos get progressively more difficult as the numbers go up, with level 6 being the most difficult.
Key teaching points for the Frog Jump:
1. Crouch down. Hands on the floor
2. Jump off two feet. Swing arms up overhead
3. Land on two feet
4. Bend knees when landing
The Moving Well-Being Well project is a collaboration that began in 2017 between DCU’s School of Health and Human Performance, the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics, the GAA and Dublin GAA. The project’s goal is to help address the growing physical inactivity problem emerging in Irish society, particularly amongst school children.
The team was also delighted to collaborate with the PDST PE team on these resources. The resources here are in addition to the already extensive suite of supports the GAA offers to primary schools and coaches. To find out more, visit www.learning.gaa.ie
