Imran's bowling action
World Cup 1979 - bowling to Geoffrey Boycott at Leeds and then to Alvin Kallicharan at the Oval: An embryonic leap is clearly visible although Imran is still not looking over the shoulder.
India 1980 - Footage (in black & white) taken during Imran's 5 for 114 at Madras. Imran was not fully fit and can clearly be seen labouring through his run-up. However, the bowling action is clearly a prototype of the classic Imran Khan action - the leap is there and Imran is clearly side-on as he bowls. The first of the two wickets shown is Kirmani, bowled off-stump. This was Imran's 100th test wicket.
Also note that in the latter case, Imran is bowling from closer to the stumps - just marginally though.
At some point, I might upload a longer, more detailed analysis
