We bailed on a WI6 ice route in Telluride, Colorado, which is known to be the hardest pure ice climb in the United States. We went there in February 2021 and the condition of the ice was already poor, making the climb dangerous (or it may be that it's us that we suck at climbing). We decided to prioritize safety and retreat, but not before enjoying hanging out in an ice cave mid-way through the route :)
