UPDATE: Turner Sports is returning to NASCAR starting in 2025 with TNT (cable)/B/R Sports Add-On on Max (stream) airing 5 races in the summer stretch, with TruTV (cable)/Max (stream) covering practices and qualifying sessions for the entire second half of the season. The deal is for seven (7) years. Unfortunately, it will not include Ken Squier as he passed away on November 15, 2023. RIP to the legend.
I combined several clips throughout the 2014 Camping World RV Sales 301 in order to have one video in which Turner Sports says goodbye to NASCAR. After the command was given, we were greeted with the legend himself, Ken Squier, giving some words in what TNT's final race at the time. A few more famous races were shown (1994 Coca-Cola 600 and 2003 Pop Secret 400) before the final goodbyes.
The ending montage had pretty much all the great Turner Sports races combined into one. Here they are in order of appearance:
- 1983 Atlanta Journal 500 (TBS's first race)
- 1986 Miller High Life 400 (The four leaders crash and Kyle Petty wins)
- 1992 Pontiac Excitement 400 (Elliott/Kulwicki photo finish)
- 1994 Coca-Cola 600 (Jeff Gordon's first win)
- 1993 Miller Genuine Draft 500 (first race after death of Davey Allison)
- 2002 Pennsylvania 500 (Steve Park/Dale Earnhardt, Jr. flip)
- 2010 Gillette Fusion ProGlide 500 (Kasey Kahne crashes into bushes in the 'Big One')
- 2007 Pepsi 400 (Kyle Busch/Jamie McMurray photo finish)
- 2008 LifeLock.com 400 (Kyle Busch beats Johnson and Harvick in G-W-C finish)
- 2009 Coke Zero 400 (my favorite Turner Sports call with Ralph Sheheen)
- 2014 Camping World RV Sales 301 (last race on TNT until 2025)
