In this video you'll hear the various ham radio contacts made while doing the Summits On The Air (SOTA) activation of San Gorgonio Mountain. San Gorgonio is deep in the San Bernardino National Forest and within wilderness boundaries. From atop this peak you can make radio contacts easily with a simple VHF transceiver HT like my Yaesu VX8-DR or any brand. You will want to choose your weather patterns wisely as this is the highest peak in Southern California.
