So I've been wanting to get up on the River Thames and have a go for the resident Chub for sometime now, I've been seeing a few of my friends having a few nice chub out on the social network sites. So in this video, I travel up to Wallingford in Oxford with my trusted old cheese paste and a few other baits to tempt some chub out of their River Thames home. When I get there the river is just starting to fine down and is still carrying a bit of water and colour with temperature's being a little on the mild side after a foggy morning start. I only had a limited amount of time on my hands and needed to make the most of my visit. I decided to fish only a few swims, so I walked the length of the section and picked several likely looking chub swims. Because of the conditions I decided to limit my free bait and fish a link ledger small 15 gram cage feeder to start the session and later I changed to using popped up bread flake. A rig I like to use for when the chub are being a little shy on the bites. It was going to be a tough day with the recent weather conditions however it all comes good in the end and on my birthday too. Hope you enjoy my short session on the Thames and I will be back there very soon in search of one of those bigger chub and ill defiantly be back in the summer months chasing Barbel . Tight lines all..
