The story of the Gleiwitz Incident in August 1939 (a false flag attack on the Gleiwitz radio station and towers) has often been said to have been the event that started the Second World War. But this story is suspicious to say the least. Alfred Naujocks is our main source of information, and claims that he was the man who started WW2. But he contradicts himself in his various accounts of what happened. We're not even sure what date it actually took place, or if it took place at all. So today we explore the Gleiwitz Incident and attempt to answer the question raised by my Patreon, Vinny Siracusa, as to whether it actually happened or not, or if it did, when. Was Alfred Naujocks REALLY the man who started WW2?
