there is the most toxic compound in the world, known as Botulinum Toxin Type A. How toxic it is? Well, its LD50 value is 1 nanogram per kilogram.

It was first discovered in the late 18th century in Germany following an incident of food poisoning due inappropriate sausage production. The symptoms of this food poisoning were muscle weakening, respiratory failure, and Gastrointestinal problems.

Botulinum Toxins are long polypeptide chains with over 1,000 amino-acids. They are produced by tiny bacterium called Clostridium botulinum that can survive in low-oxygen environments.
