In April 2023, Will Fleury became the first Irish MMA fighter to publicly fail an anti-doping test, when the Nevada State Athletic Commission found he tested positive for anabolic steroid drostanolone ahead of his PFL regular season matchup against Krzysztof Jotko. In June 2023, Fleury was banned for 9 months.
