Jeremy Fowler On Khalil Mack Trade
“Multiple teams I’ve spoken to have an eye on (Mack) because he had the 17 sacks a year ago, Huge cap hit and (Chargers) can save $20-plus million on their cap if they were to trade or move on. Maybe there’s a trade possibility for a team in need of a pass rusher and there will be many in that market around free agency.”

- CHI 2021 (7 GP) - 19 TKL, 6 TFL, 7 QB HITS, 6.0 SACK, 0 PBU, 0 OFF
FINANCIALS:
- Base Salary - $17.55 MM
- Roster Bonus - $5.5 MM
- Saints could trade for Mack and restructure his contract to convert that roster bonus and most of his salary into a signing bonus paid out over four automatically-voiding years, lowering his cap hit to just over $5.58 million.
- The risk: if Mack is not re-signed next season his contract would void and leave behind as much as $17.47 million in dead money.
