3 best rally inspired adventure bike builds | From KNOX at EICMA 2022

Our last piece from EICMA 2022 is a quick look at a some of the best rally inspired middleweight adventure bike builds on show.

The middleweight adventure bike scene seems to have exploded in recent years and people are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with them.

First up was a look at the Yamaha Tenere 700 used by Pol Tarres [ Ссылка ]. This bike has played a part in the Tenere 700 reaching iconic status and the quality of this build is fantastic. Everything has been thrown at it to help Pol to do the things he is doing with it. Weight down significantly, performance up! To see more details of the build video, check out [ Ссылка ].

Next up is a look at 2 brilliant middle weight adventure builds from [ Ссылка ]. Both the Tuareg and V85tt present an arguably more realistic build than the Tenere 700 one, but are still significantly modified... we think it would hard to see change from £10k with all that's been done. In particular the Moto Guzzi V85tt was very interesting and the first time we had seen anyone do something like this with a V85tt.

To come at it from a slightly different angle, we also take a look at the highest performance model and the most realistic for everyday consumers, the Fantic XEF 450 Rally. [ Ссылка ]. Based heavily on the Yamaha WR450f, with a bullet proof motor, strong chassis and excellent components, the Fantic is the lightest and highest performance rally bike in this video and we included it in this video to show another side of what the options are if you are considering building one of these bikes.

We're excited to see what else comes out in this growing middle weight adventure bike segment. Hopefully we'll see something interesting done with a Honda Transalp and Suzuki 850DE in future.

Final thoughts are that riders could also choose to build one of these rally inspired bikes from a machine that we consider a better rolling chassis, the Husqvarna 701 Enduro, or KTM/GasGas counterparts. This is a much lighter package and the end result would be a higher performance motorcycle in every area. Just a thought!
