The American was quick to remind everyone that he has undeniable talent and charisma by playing sensational golf, putting him in contention to lift the Claret Jug for the fourth time.
He was at the top of his game but was unable to capitalise on his hard work - finishing tied for sixth, as Italy's Francesco Molinari won his maiden major trophy.
Less than a year later, Woods would sensationally win The Masters in 2019 for the fifth time! It is clear that his much-anticipated comeback to The Open was a launchpad for his 15th major trophy victory.
