A Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) is green house gas concentration (not emissions) trajectory adopted by IPCC. RCPs are used to understand how our climate may change in future, we need to predict how we will behave. The RCPs were first in the 5th Assessment Report of the IPCC in 2014 as a basis for report 's finding. Scientists use the RPCs to model climate change and build scenarios about the impacts.
There are four RCPs;
RCP 2.6 is low emission pathway
RCP 4.6 is medium emission pathway
RCP 6.0 is medium high emission pathway
RCP 6.5 is high emission pathway
