Mark Court is a former sign painter and only person who hand paints the pinstripes that we see on all Rolls Royce cars. Applying the coachline by hand is a symbol of quality and uncompromising craftsmanship. Mark has been doing this from 2003. He gets six figure salary.
The brushes he uses to paint the pinstripes are cut to a specific width and he ensures that there is no joint lines on the car, through his techniques. Court uses squirrel hair brushes that he trims himself to adjust to the right shape.
Court’s job, however, is not just to paint the two straight lines. Many customers also request a variety of custom designs, which has led him to paint designs like flowers, horse heads, even customer initials on the car. He was once flown to Dubai to help a customer who requested the pinstripes on his Rolls Royce after it was delivered.
