Huntingdale Golf Club on the Melbourne sandbelt is about to embark on a full-scale redevelopment of its famed championship golf course.
This video showcases the layout made famous by the Australian Masters tournament which Huntingdale held for 30 consecutive years from 1979 to 2008 and again in 2015.
The Masters was an iconic event not just in Australia but in world golf. Many of the greats of men's golf made the trip to Huntingdale: Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo and a young Rory McIlroy to name a handful.
Greg Norman was a dominant force at the Australian Masters, winning the 'gold jacket' six times between 1981 and 1990. Other promient champions at Huntingale include Gene Littler, Graham Marsh, Bernhard Langer, Mark O'Meara, Ian Baker-Finch, Peter Senior, Craig Parry, Brad Hughes, Peter Lonard, Michael Campbell, Colin Montgomerie, Robert Allenby, Justin Rose and Aaron Baddeley.
OCM's redevelopment of Huntingdale is sure to elevate the standing of a course which, in the latter part of last century, was considered among the very best in Australia.
