June 14, 1990 - Isiah Thomas' 29-point Game 5 performance wrapped up a Finals MVP run that saw Thomas average 27.6 points and 7.0 assists while shooting 68.8 percent from the arc in leading the Detroit Pistons to their second consecutive NBA Championship.
In Game 5, Thomas scored 15 of his team's first 19 points. The Portland Trail Blazers led by seven with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter before a five-point Vinnie Johnson burst pulled the Pistons within two. Then, with 36 seconds left, Thomas buried a 17-footer to tie the contest. Moments later, Vinnie Johnson's 00.7 dagger secured Detroit's second title.
