The Strava dataset is growing by over 3 million activities a week and already contains 400 billion gps data points. Strava Labs is showcasing interesting side projects enabled by this dataset.
1. Global Heatmap: While personal heatmap shows just your activities, the global one shows the most popular running and biking routes around the world. Zoom in on any part of the world, and you can see where the running or biking hotspots are. The brighter a place, the more popular it is.
2. Flyby is a gret tool to easily compare your runs with those of your friends, competitors and strangers. You can playback your activity along with those running near you.
3. Roster represents a symmary of your workout habits and history of all your group activities.
4. Achievement Map: a map with your achievements - cycling King or Queen of the Mountain or running Course Record highlighted on an interactive map.
