What is the best way to load a leather knife strop with emulsions? The Jende way! This video introduces the Jende Leather Strops and how to load them properly with our Jende Diamond Emulsions. The goal of loading the leather is to only put down a thin layer that gets into the pores of the skin, not to load it so much that it accumulates on the surface. Any emulsion accumulation will be pulled off on the first stropping pass, which is a waste of abrasive. We used our 0.25 micron Jende Poly Diamond Emulsion, but no matter what micron size you use, the application is the same for all grits on the leather.
We let the leather dry out until there was no transfer from the strop to our fingers when lightly rubbed. The strop is now ready to use! See Parts 2 and 3 to this video, which is stropping use and techniques.
