In previous videos I've share what trauma is, how it's often treated, and skills for dealing with some of the symptoms. This gentle guided meditation is another way of learning to reduce our suffering. There is no recalling or discussion of particulars of trauma here. Just gentle self-care.
Be sure to note that in conjuring the image of supportive others, this can be pets, someone imaginary, a spiritual figure of some kind, and not necessarily a person who you know and are close to.
This meditation can be used regularly by those with a traumatic stress diagnosis, and by those experiencing emotional pain without the diagnosis.
