One of our Most Used Drills!
Core to many of our protocols at SuperSpeed Golf, the Step-Change of Direction drill is one of the best ways to work on timing and coordination of the transition of the golf swing.
This drill helps players put pressure on the lead side earlier in the swing and helps get the lower body leading the transition. This drill works on so many positive aspects of ground reaction forces and sequencing that if we could give a player only one drill, it would be the Step-Change of Direction.
- Start with your feet together and club out in front of you (counter-rotation)
- Start your step as soon you take the club back and it passes your feet. Yes, start your step that early!
- Make sure your step does not go too far beyond your normal stance width
