DYNAFIT athlete and Ultra Trail Runner Hannes Namberger explains how he packs his Trail Running backpack when he goes for a long run in the mountains. Especially on runs longer than 50km it is essential to only take as much as necessary and to be out there as lightweight as possible.
How to pack your Trail Running backpack? This video shows how the DYNAFIT athlete Hannes Namberger packs his Ultra 15 backpack and how he uses the different compartments the backpack offers to carry along his equipment.
The waterproof pocket inside the backpack is used for his small cellphone that he usually takes for running, the first aid kit, some money as well as suncream. For when it gets a bit colder he always takes the DYNAFIT kneeguards that substitute long pants, his gloves and also the DYNAFIT Primaloft Neck Gaiter to cover head or throat is stored in the main compartment of the backpack.
The DYNAFIT armguards that replace a long sleeved shirt as well as a GoPro camera are stored in one of the side mesh pockets that can be reached easily and without having to put down the backpack.
At the front there are two mesh pockets to store the 500ml flasks with water as well as additional pockets for his energy bars or gels.
The most essential item he takes is his rain jacket - the DYNAFIT Gore-Tex Shakedry which is really lightweight and offers a zipper at the back to wear it above the backpack. For those running with poles Hannes also shows where to store and fixate them in the mesh part at the back.
