King tides are are abnormally high tides based on the alignment of the sun and moon with proximity to the Earth. The fishing was decent considering the high amount of rainfall that occurred in the past week. My wife Katie figured out the trick to using circle hooks pretty fast, despite not fishing often. I like to set up inexperienced folks with these types of hooks to allow for more success. I am still fond of setting the J-hooks, though circle hooks were the clear winner today. I am just glad that the wife had fun and she will definitely be joining me on future adventures.
