After watching this microphone review, you will know how the PRA-D1 supercardioid microphone sounds when using it for podcasting, live streaming or YouTube.
Overall, I am a big fan of XLR microphones because you can combine them with different audio gear.
Not matter if you use this microphone with expensive equipment, or a budget mic preamp / USB audio interface, in my testing both worked well.
Especially beginners, who want to try podcasting, live streaming, or YouTube, may benefit from flexibility like this. Because as your audience grows you can easily upgrade parts of your audio gear.
In contrast, with a USB mic, you won’t have this kind of flexibility, so while a USB microphone may be easier to use at first, in the long run, if you ever want to make the switch to XLR gear, it may prove to be a disadvantage.
Overall I think the Superlux vocal microphone has a nice build quality, especially in combination with a tube-preamp it can be an attractive option for beginners.
