The classy Sizing John makes it two wins from two starts over fences in the Grade 2 Ryans Cleaning Craddockstown Novice Chase under jockey Johnny Burke for trainer Henry de Bormhead and owners Ann and Alan Potts in comfortable fashion at Punchestown.
A Grade 1 winner over hurdles last season and a commendable third in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle behind Douvan in March at the Cheltenham Festival, Sizing John looks like being a handy chaser too after taking account of prolific winner Lord Scoundrel.
"I'm delighted with that. It was a super ride by Johnny and he jumped great," said De Bromhead. "We'll see how things go at Christmas, but if he's still in the Cheltenham reckoning he'll get an entry in both the Jewson and the Arkle."
A visit to the Christmas meeting at Leopardstown and a crack at Grade 1 company looks on the agenda next...
