00:00 Hello my friends.
00:05 In this modelling project, I am building a multipart project of the Soviet Attack Helicopter Mi-24p "Hind" in scale 1 to 72 from Zvezda.
01:53 The following project is inspired by real events.
02:26 This is the box of the Soviet Attack Helicopter Mi-24p "Hind" in scale 1 to 72 from Zvezda. One of the best helicopters & hopefully the same will be true for the kit.
02:47 The box includes some clear sprue & the decals.
02:54 A paper that I don't need & the manual which has 2 assembling versions. I will go for the 1st one which has open hatches, doors, etc.
03:05 Here are the painting versions & the rest of the pages are for the 32 steps of the model kit.
03:13 Last, it has lots of normal sprue including couple pilots that because of the 1 to 72 scale they are so cute next to my finger😊
03:27 Let's go.
04:00 These smaller ones need extra attention.
04:21 Assembling the cockpit.
05:10 I placed this wrong. Fixing.
05:26 Another mistake here. I guess because I am tired from my job I get confused by the manual or something. Fixing this & going to sleep😞
06:35 I knew because of the scale that things would be so small but still I find it cute. I also prepared the pilots for painting. Look at them they are almost as small as my nail😊
06:52 Keep on gluing.
07:56 Did some work off camera. More assembling.
08:42 Did these off camera. More gluing.
09:39 Did these off camera. Combining these constructs.
10:27 Prepared these off camera. Assembling.
11:40 Will leave these open because I will need to paint them.
11:43 Mini drill & drilling 2 holes.
11:52 As you can see the panel lines are barely visible. I bought this Tamiya's Plastic scriber 2 tool & will use it to carve the lines. Using some masking tape to avoid any mistakes but still this is my first time doing this😉
12:37 Better now but needs some more carving.
13:01 So much better now. More carving.
13:19 Attaching the doors.
13:45 Prepared these off camera & German panzer gray primer airbrushing.
14:54 Gunmetal gray painting.
15:26 Painting with metallic steel.
16:05 Combined them off camera & gunmetal gray painting.
16:42 Done off camera.
16:55 Dark gull gray.
17:53 Off camera painted here with ochre & aluminium. Also, here with black & aluminium. Continuing with the black.
18:43 Since I don't have duck egg blue, painting with pale gray.
18:53 Off camera did this with aluminium.
20:08 Done off camera. Also, painted these little ones with tan & steel. Gray painting.
20:38 Silver.
20:54 Black here & there.
21:09 Done. Did the seats with ochre. Did some glossy varnish with the brush only on the surfaces that I will be placing the decals. Mig's decal set before placing the decals & Mig's decal fix afterwards. The 1st prepares the surface & the 2nd takes care of any curves, bumps, etc.
21:42 Pressing with a cotton swab to take away the excess air or liquids below the decal without damaging it.
22:20 When things have dried very well then we use the decal fix.
22:26 Decal fix. Depending on the decals placement you may need to coat twice.
22:39 Super gluing the turboshaft engines.
23:15 Unfortunately because the pilots are so tiny I had to paint them off camera. Super gluing.
23:52 More gluing.
25:13 Done off camera with the fuselage, painted with green & black the console & did some glossy varnish on it. Placing the decal.
25:45 Done with the decal including the decal fix. Placing using Tamiya's extra thin cement quick-setting.
26:00 Attaching the sides of the cockpit.
26:28 Did some work on the tail & onto more gluing.
26:44 Also did these 2 off camera. Keep on gluing.
27:23 Off camera did some work here & there. However, as I have said before, the past few weeks have been quite hard on me & even though I said that from the 2 assembling versions. I will go for the 1st one which has open hatches, doors, etc. I ended up gluing the doors by mistake. So basically, I removed them for now. Last but not least prepared the wings. Gluing.
28:18 Gray primer.
