The 2022 Giro d’Italia kicked off with a grande partenza in Hungary, then headed down to Sicily before snaking up Italy to the Alps, with a final time trial in Verona. The start list was packed with big names: Van der Poel, Girmay, Cavendish and Démare all made their mark, but it was Jai Hindley who took his first grand tour victory after a tense battle with Richard Carapaz!
