Have you been thinking about getting a Clam or another shelter? Do you wonder how big a small Clam is? Are you a woman and wondering, "can I lift this and put it up myself?" What are the downfalls of the Clam shelter? Here I give an honest review of the Clam traveler, the smallest in the bunch. Before you buy it there is something you must know about the purchase of a Traveler, There are two kinds. Don't get the wrong one.
Hint: weigh down other side, step on lower flap, and brace your hand against the top, while pulling in the middle.
Hint: Super glue the rubber tips onto the bars that your slip into the doorway. The rubber came off my first clam and I did not realize it. Then the metal made a hole in the place where they are to go.

Watch out for the plastic/ rubber ends on the feet of the area that opens the door. They can come off. I would superglue them on.
UPDATE Sept 2023. Still love my clam but here are some suggestions. The rubber tips that are on the door supports. I would super glue them in or be very careful each time you pack it up that you don't lose them.
Also, I have moved to using fillable sand bags. I just felt that it was easier, less heavy and they stored easier.
