What is Track Evolution in Formula One?
Track Evolution is a term used very often over a formula one race weekend. But what does it actually mean?
In general, the term is used to describe the improving conditions of the track due to the cars clearing the racing line and the ‘’rubbering-in’’ of the track. In this video I look at what each of those terms mean, what they are important, and what impact ‘Track Evolution’ has on a race weekend.
One of the best examples from 2020 is George Russell Lap Time in Q1 Hungary as the track began to evolve but you will see elements of track evolution at every race.
