First impressions exceed my expectations. The wind during the short video was a bit light 16-18kts. It did pick up later on, which made for one of my best foiling sessions to date, including an amazing downwinder to Hilbre island followed by smooth tacks back to West Kirby marine lake.
The most significant difference compared to other wings I have used is that it has little to no flex (this is apparent in the video, when you look at the wing during/after the tack, it looks like it has a solid frame).
Doing the Heineken Gybe immediately followed by a tack seemed like a walk in the park (never done this combination until today). Although not shown in this video, I found it much easier to pass the wing behind my back during a tack too.
The downwinder was just epic, not once did the wing offset my balance.
For the first time with any wing I’ve used, it felt like the foil was the limiting factor for speed. The wing wanted to go go go with no fluttering when heading high into wind.
After a nice 50km session, I’m already getting use to the wing. I’m not fully in tune with the wing yet, but it certainly feels great for the first session out with it.
Features I don’t think that are as good as other wings I’ve owned, are the inflate valves (I prefer the Ozone ones, where you screw the hose onto the valve). The bag only has one strap and is too heavy, but I suppose it is very well made.
